For passengers, data is a currency they are prepared to trade in exchange for a more efficient travel experience. According to a poll, 79 percent of business travelers consider it "valuable" or "very valuable" to have a mobile booking tool that knows their name, employer, loyalty status, and preferences.
Geofencing and location services enable hotels to personalize onsite services based on contextual data, including visitor behavior on the property.
Here are geofencing approaches for hospitality firms to enhance their customized strategies:
● Automated check-in and check-out
Hotels can allow customers to check in using their mobile phones upon arrival or as they approach the facility. Geofencing the airport or hotel parking lot allows the hotel or travel app to send a location-based push notice with a mobile deep link to the check-in page, or the app may automatically pull up the check-in page. Upon check-in, guests are given their room number and instructions regarding where to pick up their keys, such as the speedy check-in counter.
● Track social media posts sent from the property.
Hospitality firms are also geofencing their buildings to monitor consumer conversions throughout their stay. Businesses should have a digital team that analyzes social media postings from their hotels to identify chances to boost brand visibility and recognition while also delighting guests. A couple tweeting regarding their engagement may earn a hotel upgrade, while a visitor tweeting about a birthday celebration may have dessert served to her table. Geofencing, or building up a virtual border around their property, allows the team to collect conversions without using a hashtag.
● Poolside ordering
Upon arrival, guests sunbathing by the pool will instantly receive a poolside menu. They can order a beverage and pay using their phone or have it billed to their hotel. Poolside waiters can also view their loyalty status and address them by name.
● Track how long visitors spend on the premises.
Where do visitors spend the bulk of their time? Does average expenditure per guest depend on dwell time? By placing geofences around every part of the property and examining dwell periods, one can quickly find the answers to these concerns. Polygonal geofences may be created using Bluedot and can enclose areas of various sizes and forms. Hoteliers may use these insights to create a more intelligent environment that serves their visitors better.
